IMAGINATIVE MEMORY BOOKLET DESIGN WORKSHOP REVEALING THE CONNECTION OF MOLYVOS INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL WITH THE URBAN MEMORY OF MOLYVOS (MITHYMNA)
Memories of a place are often hidden in daily life. What happens to those memories; the senses and identity when the locals had to leave suddenly their town? What happens when a town becomes an image for tourists? Then, what happens to those places when a festival bring them life by gathering humans again?

This year Molyvos International Music Festival has organized its 11th edition. The theme was CHAOS. In this context the design instructor and graphic designer Dr. Hasan Işıklı involved in the festival to pay attention on festival’s connection in the memories of the festival participants.
The aim was how the festival participants make sense of Molyvos (Mithymna) by their festival experience and how they imagine the past of the town. The workshop has been at the Historical Public Library of Mithymna "Argyris Eftaliotis" at the heart of the city. The library, a historical place itself has a large collection of books and objects about the town and Lesbos Island. As the participants had discussion about their experiences and their personal memories they developed a brainstorming process at the first day. The following day they wrote their imaginative memory and visualized them with the books and images from the computers.

The results were again personal and in the spirit of fanzine; free, hasty and joyful. We thank all the participants and the library responsible dear Elena Anastasiadou and the festival manager dear Lito Dakou-Dörken to make this insightful creative workshop in Molyvos, Lesbos.
