imaginary memory workshop

The concept of imaginary memory is derived from “urban palimpsests” and “urban imaginary” concepts coined to the literature by Andreas Huyssen*. A child, a visitor, a migrant and even a modern local person who ignores the past of their city might construct a memory which might have happened by looking to the images of a historical place or interacting physically in the site. This imaginary memory would be a fiction. However, any human being is a part of collective memory and even ‘globally connected’ today. Therefore, a fiction story out of this interaction might reveal pieces from the place’s forgotten memory. The workshop is open to both children and adults.
