Our Mission
Hi Journey Art and Design Studio aims to foster a design perspective through creative thinking methods in its workshops and events, which offer diverse themes and content. Especially today, with games and social media, it helps children discover how to focus while also understanding the design process, which requires patience and experimentation.
Graphic design and illustration are informed by the collective memory of the culture we live in. Hi Journey aims to interrogate our personal and collective memories through design: What do we remember and under what circumstances? Can the design process become a tool for gaining a new perspective by utilizing existing elements? If design is about transforming ideas into tangible products, can lost memories be brought to awareness through design and once again become a part of our memories and daily lives?
Our vision
Graphic design offers functional, aesthetic, and practical solutions to the problems of our daily lives. Illustration combines our memory and imagination to tell stories, allowing us to express ourselves and communicate with one another.
Hi Journey Art and Design Studio advocates the idea of "let's design new cards" when faced with rapidly changing technology and today's unpredictable new world economy and political landscape, where there are "no cards left to play," and therefore, "let's design new cards." Through workshops and other activities blended with memory studies, we explore how societies have transformed in different eras due to challenges. As we write stories, create drawings, and design pages together, we observe the interaction of participants. This then translates into a process that adds meaning to our daily lives. The result could be a picture book or comic book we designed together, a mascot for an institution, a logo, a label, or a map. Our design is an expression of our perspective.
