Hi Journey's main studio in Karşıyaka, İzmir, regularly hosts comic book workshops every Tuesday for 6-7 and 8-11 year olds. Children participate in workshops that can be lengthy or shorter, focusing on subjects like comics and drawing, according to their interests and skill level. The workshops are typically 2 hours long in person, but can be extended to 1 hour online depending on demand.

Comic Book Workshop
When designing picture books and comics, every child imagines their own universe. The story we design has characters, a plot, and a narrative style. Expressing events and emotions through drawing is a design process. The point of view (camera), who the characters are, how they stand, what kind of setting? After writing the story, the characters and setting(s) are determined in our sketchbook. Pictures are drawn along with the text, and if necessary, research is done on the characters and setting. Finally, the text and drawings of the picture book or comic are copied, colored, glued, and bound if necessary, according to the given template or the drawn page design.
Illustration Workshop
In this workshop for the 6-7 and 8-11 age groups in the 2025-2026 season, children who are interested in drawing and having visual talent, are taught the fundamentals of the illustration industry: simplifying human and animal figures, drawing, color usage, and various composition techniques (symmetrical-asymmetrical balance, rhythm, hierarchy, etc.). While drawing, children also gain principles such as focus and gradual progress throughout the process.
Tarot Collage Workshop
This season, with the addition of Sena Selek to the team, a tarot collage workshop is held regularly every month where tarot cards are reinterpreted using collage techniques. After the Lovers and the Devil cards, participants are now using the Sun card to design their own tarot cards in the historic, elegant, and relaxed atmosphere of Monasart Coffee, cutting and pasting images from old magazines.
