When designing a comic book, every child draws inspiration from their own experiences, the things they watch, and even the games they play, creating a universe of their own. The stories we design feature heroes, a narrative flow, and a specific storytelling style. Conveying events and emotions through drawing is a design process; we proceed by asking questions such as: What is the perspective (camera angle)? Who are the characters and how are they posed? What is the setting like?
The comic book workshop encompasses story writing, character design, sketching out the story, refining the drawings in pencil, and finally inking and coloring the work.
Comic Book Workshop
Painting for Kids (5-8 years)
Expert Instructor: N. Nur Acar
The Painting Workshop for Ages 5–8 is a hands-on program designed to develop children’s visual expression through drawing, colour, and form. The workshop includes painting activities that encourage observation, imagination, and creative thinking. Through a variety of materials and techniques, children are encouraged to improve their hand-eye coordination, enrich their visual awareness, and discover their own ways of artistic expression.
Activities are planned according to the age and developmental level of each student.
FINE ARTS EXAM PREPARATION

The Fine Arts Faculty Preparation Programme is designed for students preparing for Fine Arts Faculty entrance examinations and other aptitude-based art examinations. The programme focuses on observational drawing, imaginative drawing, composition, and examination-based studio practice.
Each student’s current level is assessed in order to develop an individual study programme addressing technical skills, visual perception, proportion, perspective, composition, and drawing practice. As the examination period approaches, greater emphasis is placed on timed drawing exercises and practices based on actual examination formats.
Lessons are organised either individually or in groups according to each student’s level.

Photo-Ethnography (online)
Join Dr. N. Mutlu Kızılbuga—who brings extensive fieldwork and exhibition experience from Kazakhstan and Turkey—to explore the power of photography in fieldwork through the lens of visual anthropology, and to develop your own visual language and style.
Led by Dr. N. Mutlu Kızılbuga, this Photo-Ethnography Workshop invites adults interested in social sciences and photography to a four-week online program (October 23 – November 13). Participants will learn key techniques for taking photographs during ethnographic research. By the end of the workshop, you will have evolved beyond the ordinary traveler into someone capable of deep observation; you will be equipped to build your own archives—whether for personal travel or professional research—and even curate your own exhibitions.

Week 3: Reading Photographs and Developing a Visual Language
Reading the story, cultural code, and context behind a photograph.
Developing a distinctive style and narrative voice in photography.
Week 4: Representation, Selection, and Visual Analysis
Accurate representation of the field and techniques for creating a professional selection (portfolio).
Collaborative visual analysis sessions and evaluations based on participants' projects.
